How do I set EasyPlank up?

Put your iPhone on the floor with the screen facing up, roughly under your chest, and get into a plank above it. EasyPlank asks for camera, motion and notification permissions the first time, then walks you through a one-off calibration.

What is calibration and why do I have to do it?

Calibration teaches the app what your correct plank looks like. You hold a good plank for ten seconds while the app measures your distance from the phone, and that measurement becomes your personal baseline. Everything afterwards is judged relative to it, so there is no one-size-fits-all threshold.

The countdown keeps restarting during calibration.

The hold only counts down while the phone is flat and you are detected in position. If you leave the plank it pauses, and if the phone stops lying flat it starts over. Make sure the phone is on a level surface and that you are fully inside the camera view.

Can I re-calibrate later?

Yes. Run calibration again from Settings whenever your setup changes โ€” a different surface, different clothing, or simply a plank position that has improved.

During a session

Why did my timer pause mid-plank?

EasyPlank only credits time while you are inside your calibrated position band. If your hips sag or you push up out of position, the clock pauses and you hear an "out of position" cue; it resumes when you come back. That is the point of the app โ€” it counts valid plank time, not elapsed time.

What does "reduced precision" mean?

iPhones with a TrueDepth front camera can measure your distance in real units. On iPhones without one, EasyPlank falls back to Apple's Vision framework and tracks how large you appear instead, which is relative rather than metric. It still works, but it is more sensitive to lighting and placement, so the app tells you honestly when it is running that way.

The app cannot detect me.

Check that the phone is flat and screen-up, that the room is reasonably lit, that nothing is covering the front camera, and that camera access is granted in iOS Settings โ†’ EasyPlank. If you are planking well above the phone, try moving it closer to your chest or head.

Can I hear cues with my music playing?

Yes. Audio coaching mixes over whatever you are listening to. You can turn the tones, the position cues and the count-in on or off independently in Settings.

What happens if a call comes in or I leave the app?

Both clocks freeze. EasyPlank will never credit time it could not verify, so an interrupted session simply stops accumulating until you come back.

Data, widgets and devices

How do I add the Home Screen widget?

Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap the + button, search for EasyPlank, and choose the small or medium size. It shows today's plank time, your streak and your valid-form percentage.

Do my planks go into Apple Health?

Only if you turn it on. Each completed plank is then saved as a Core Training workout. The integration is write-only โ€” EasyPlank never reads anything out of Health.

How do I turn off analytics or notifications?

Analytics: Settings โ†’ Share analytics, inside the app. Notifications: iOS Settings โ†’ EasyPlank โ†’ Notifications. Both take effect immediately.

How do I delete my data?

Your history lives on your device, so deleting the app deletes it. Workouts already written to Apple Health stay in the Health app and can be removed there.

Which languages and devices are supported?

EasyPlank runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later and is available in 13 languages: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Dutch, English, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Malay, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish and Turkish.
