Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the EasyPlank app (hereinafter referred to as "Application") for iPhone, developed by Mahmut Ugur TAS (hereinafter referred to as "Service Provider"). The Application is provided free of charge, is supported by advertising, contains no in-app purchases, and is provided "AS IS".

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 2026-08-31.

1. Summary

EasyPlank has no accounts and no sign-in. Your workout history stays on your iPhone. The camera and depth sensor readings the Application uses to check your plank position are processed entirely on your device in real time and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. The only information that leaves your device is anonymous usage and crash diagnostics, plus a push notification token if you allow notifications — both of which are described in detail below.

The Application is free and is paid for by advertising. What leaves your device is the information the ad network needs to select and measure those ads, anonymous usage and crash diagnostics, and a push notification token if you allow notifications. Nothing measured during a plank is part of any of it — no camera frame, no distance reading, no plank record and no Apple Health data is ever sent to an advertiser or to anyone else. Each of these is described in detail below.

2. Camera, Depth and Motion Sensors

EasyPlank's core feature measures how far you are from the phone while you hold a plank. Depending on your device, it uses one of three methods:

• the TrueDepth front camera via ARKit face tracking;
• the TrueDepth depth map, when no face is in view;
• the standard front camera analysed on-device by Apple's Vision framework, on iPhones without TrueDepth.

In every case, camera frames and depth readings are processed only in memory, only on your device, and are discarded immediately. No photograph, video, depth map, face data or body-pose data is written to storage, shown to anyone, or sent over the network. The Service Provider never receives them and has no ability to access them.

The Application also reads the device motion sensor (accelerometer/gyroscope) for a single purpose: to detect whether your phone is lying flat on the floor. This reading is likewise processed on-device only.

iOS asks for your permission before the Application may use the camera or motion sensors. You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings → EasyPlank. Revoking camera access disables plank detection.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

Your plank records (date, duration, valid-position time, sensing method used), your calibration baseline, your goals and streaks, and your app preferences are stored locally on your iPhone. This data is not uploaded to the Service Provider or to any server. Deleting the Application deletes this data with it.

4. Apple Health

If you enable the Apple Health option, each completed plank is saved to the Health app as a Core Training workout. This integration is write-only — EasyPlank never reads any data out of Apple Health. Health data stays on your device under Apple's control and is never accessible to the Service Provider. You can turn the integration off at any time in the Application's settings, or revoke it in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

5. Information Collected by Third-Party Services

The Application embeds a small number of third-party software development kits. These collect limited technical information on the Service Provider's behalf:

5.1 Google Firebase Analytics

Used to understand, in aggregate, which parts of the Application are used. The events recorded are: screen views, calibration started, calibration completed, session started, session finished (with the sensing method used, the percentage of the session held in valid position, and whether reduced-precision mode was active), and changes to the analytics setting itself. Firebase also collects standard technical data such as device model, operating system version, language, country and an app-instance identifier.

No plank measurement, camera data or Health data is ever sent to Firebase. No name, email address or account identifier is sent, because the Application has none.

Analytics is enabled by default and you may switch it off at any time in the Application under Settings → Share analytics. When it is off, no analytics events are sent.

In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom this is not on by default. There, analytics runs only if you allow it in the consent form described in §6. Your answer to that form is applied to the Settings → Share analytics switch, which you can change at any time afterwards. See §7 for your opt-out rights.

5.2 Google Firebase Crashlytics

Collects crash reports and stability diagnostics — stack traces, device model, operating system version and the state of the app at the time of a crash — so that defects can be found and fixed. This is used for app functionality only and is not used for advertising or profiling.

Crash reporting is separate from the analytics switch in §5.1 and is not turned off by it. It is the one thing the Service Provider needs in order to fix a crash that a user may never report, and it is processed on the legitimate-interest basis set out in §12. Uninstalling the Application ends it.

5.3 Google Firebase Remote Config

Used to deliver configuration values, such as the minimum supported app version. It fetches settings; it does not collect personal information about you.

5.4 OneSignal

Used to deliver push notifications. If — and only if — you grant notification permission, your device's push token and a randomly generated subscription identifier, along with basic device information (device model, operating system version, language, time zone), are registered with OneSignal so that a notification can be routed to your device. This information is not linked to any identity, because the Application has no accounts. If you decline or later disable notifications in iOS Settings → EasyPlank → Notifications, no push registration takes place.

5.5 Google AdMob

Serves the advertising that pays for the Application. To select, deliver and measure an ad, Google receives technical information about the request: your device model and operating system version, your language and an approximate location derived from your IP address, whether the ad was shown and whether it was tapped, and — only where you have allowed it — your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).

The advertising SDK is told nothing about your planks. No camera or depth frame, no distance measurement, no plank record, no calibration baseline and no Apple Health data reaches it. The Application also never sends your location to Google: the approximate location above is derived by Google from the network connection itself, as it is for any request made over the internet.

How the ads are chosen, and what you are asked before any of it happens, is described in §6.

5.6 Apple

The Application queries Apple's public iTunes lookup endpoint to determine whether a newer version is available on the App Store. This request contains no personal information.

5.7 Third-party privacy policies

The Service Provider does not control how these providers process the data described above. Their policies are available here:

6. Advertising and Tracking

EasyPlank is free and is paid for by advertising served by Google AdMob. Ads appear in three places: a banner on the session screen, a banner on the summary screen after a plank, and an occasional full-screen ad once a plank is finished. The full-screen ad is deliberately infrequent — your first planks are never interrupted by one, short or abandoned sessions never earn one, and there are limits on how often and how many a day it can appear.

Where ads are personalised, Google may combine what it receives from the Application with information it holds from other apps and websites in order to choose them. That is tracking as Apple defines it, and it is why the Application asks your permission before any of it happens. The Service Provider does not sell your information and does not share it with a data broker.

6.1 App Tracking Transparency

iOS asks whether EasyPlank may track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you decline, or never answer, the advertising identifier is not used and you are shown non-personalised ads — chosen from the context of the moment rather than from a profile of you. The Application works identically either way; nothing is withheld and no feature is gated behind the answer.

You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6.2 The consent form (EEA, UK and other regions where one is required)

Where the law requires it, Google's User Messaging Platform presents a consent form built on the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework before any ad is requested. It names the advertising partners involved and asks which purposes you agree to. No ad is requested until you have answered it, and your answer also governs analytics, as described in §5.1.

You can reopen that form and change your choices at any time from Settings → Ad privacy settings inside the Application.

Neither prompt is shown while a plank is in progress.

7. Your Choices and Opt-Out Rights

• Personalised advertising: decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or change your answer in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. You will still see ads, but non-personalised ones. Where a consent form was shown, reopen it from Settings → Ad privacy settings inside the Application to change any of the choices you made there.
• Analytics: turn off Settings → Share analytics inside the Application. This takes effect immediately.
• Crash reports: these are not covered by the analytics switch (see §5.2). Uninstalling the Application ends them.
• Push notifications: decline the permission prompt, or disable notifications in iOS Settings → EasyPlank → Notifications.
• Camera and motion: revoke in iOS Settings → EasyPlank.
• Apple Health: turn the integration off in the Application, or revoke access in the Health app.
• Everything: uninstalling the Application removes all locally stored data and ends all collection. Workouts already written to Apple Health remain in Health and can be deleted there.

8. Disclosure of Information

The Service Provider does not sell, rent or trade any information. Information may be disclosed only where required by law, where necessary to comply with a legal process or governmental request, or where necessary to investigate a violation of the Terms or protect the rights, property or safety of others.

9. Data Retention

Data stored on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the Application. Analytics data is retained by Google Firebase according to the project's configured retention period, after which it is deleted automatically. Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days. Push subscription records are retained by OneSignal while your device remains subscribed and are removed when you disable notifications or uninstall the Application. Advertising request data is retained by Google under its own policies, described at the links in §5.7; the Service Provider sees only aggregate reports of impressions, clicks and revenue, which identify no one.

10. Security

All network communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Data stored on your device is protected by iOS's own data protection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

11. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed at children under 13, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided such information, please contact [email protected] so it can be deleted.

12. Your Rights in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom (GDPR)

The Service Provider relies on a different legal basis for each kind of processing described in §5:

• Advertising and analytics — your consent. Both are governed by the consent form described in §6.2, which is presented before any ad is requested. Nothing is collected for either purpose unless you agree to it there, and you may withdraw at any time using the controls in §7.
• Crash and stability diagnostics — legitimate interest. The Service Provider's interest is in finding and fixing defects in a free application that has no support channel inside it. This processing is limited to the technical data listed in §5.2 and is not used for advertising or profiling. You may object to it by contacting the address below, and uninstalling the Application ends it.
• Push notifications — your consent, given as the notification permission you grant to iOS, and withdrawn by disabling notifications.

If you are located in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because the Application holds no account identifying you, the Service Provider may be unable to locate data relating to you specifically; the most effective way to exercise erasure is to disable analytics and uninstall the Application. To make a request, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

13. Your Rights in California (CCPA/CPRA)

The Service Provider does not sell personal information for money. However, California law defines "sharing" broadly enough to cover personalised advertising: where you allow it, the advertising identifier described in §5.5 is made available to Google for cross-context behavioural advertising, and that counts as sharing under the CPRA.

To opt out, decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or turn tracking off at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Ads continue, but they are non-personalised and your advertising identifier is not used. This is the same control described in §6.1 and §7.

California residents may also request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected, and may request deletion, by contacting [email protected]. Because the Application holds no account identifying you, the Service Provider may be unable to locate information relating to you specifically.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be published on this page together with a new effective date. Continued use of the Application after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
